The latest gem to come my way via my offspring is the soundtrack to iCarly. Courtesy of Nickelodeon, iCarly stars Miranda Cosgrove formerly of another Nick show, Drake and Josh. (Sidenote: I love Drake and Josh, Josh Peck is starring in a new movie called The Wackness with Ben Kingsley, it looks awesome.)
Anyway, since I received the soundtrack to iCarly a few days ago (a perk of my day job) the girls insist on listening to it every morning on the way to camp. The interesting part is that I sometimes forget to turn it off after I've dropped them off. *blush* The CD features several tracks by Miranda Cosgrove herself, including the theme song "Leave it all to me". It's very catchy... So wake up the members of my nation / It's your time to be / There's no chance unless you take one / And it's time to see / The brighter side of every situation / Somethings are meant to be / So give me your best and leave the rest to me.
Intertwined between each song is banter from the main cast members, Carly, her BFF Sam, friend Freddie, and Carly's brother Spencer. It's all very funny. The CD also features tracks from Good Charlotte, Natasha Bedingfield and The Naked Brothers Band. They even threw in two "Nickelodeon Mix" tracks for good measure, one of Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend", and my girls' favorite Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" where he sings of being "in denial" instead of "suicidal". Genius.
iCarly is a great show, my girls' love it and they love the Soundtrack
